Tutor - Gig Profile

The Idea:

Share your knowledge on just about any topic by selling your services as a tutor.

How it Works:

Knowledge is power, and if you have special expertise in a topic, you can make a lot of money teaching it to others. Find clients by advertizing through classified ads and contacting local organizations and schools who might have people interested in private tutoring. You can choose to tutor formal school topics, practical lessons, or even fun topics like how to become a whiz at computer games. You can aim your services toward any group you like, specializing in geography tutoring for middle-schoolers or teaching grannies how to use a cell phone to keep in touch with the grandkids. The options are endless.

How Much Can You Make:

Private tutors make between $20-$100 an hour, depending on the subject and who they teach. In-demand difficult subjects like computing and math make more, as does tutoring to corporate clients.
