Speechwriter - Gig Profile

The Idea:

Write speeches for individuals who need to speak at events and don’t know how to prepare.

How it Works:

Speeches aren't just used by politicians and celebrities (although marketing your speechwriting services to these groups can bring in a lot of cash!) An easier route to developing a portfolio of speechwriting gigs is to aim at regular folks who need to give speeches. People are often required to provide a speech for awards ceremonies, weddings, birthdays and other events. Most have no idea how to even begin to write a speech. If you can provide this service, people will gladly pay to have at least some of the panic taken away when they hear the words "We'll expect you to give a speech at this event ..."

How Much Can You Make:

Speechwriting can pay from $100-$3000 a speech, depending on the person and event. Politicians and large public events will bring in the most money, but you can easily make a living off of easy-to-write short speeches for everyday people to give at family events.
