The Idea:
Make cash testing new video games before they are released.
How it Works:
Beta testers work for game companies and get access to hot new games before they are released to the public. Most game companies employ game testers on a part-time temporary basis. As a game tester, you'll be given a copy of the new game, often along with a locked game system that only plays that particular game. You'll be expected to play the game in its entirety and report back to the company any problems (or dislikes) you have with the game. You'll be paid for your time , plus you'll have the opportunity to be one of the first to play the game, before all your friends get a chance. Apply through game companies directly, and keep calling back if you don’t get a response right away.
How Much Can You Make:
Game testing doesn't pay much- generally $10-12 per hour, but it can be a fun part-time gig and can potentially lead to a career in video games.
