Bed and Breakfast - Gig Profile

The Idea:

Make a living meeting people from all around the world by opening a bed and breakfast.

How it Works:

If you have- or can purchase- a home with facilities for guests, you can become the proprietor of a bed and breakfast inn. B&B owners need to have good personal skills, organization and cooking ability. You will essentially be a live-in host to people who stay at your B&B. There will be some start-up costs with a B&B, namely the location, any licensing or inspection fees that are required in your area, and a sprucing up of the home to attract guests. Some B&B owners aim for a particular niche, such as families, couples or business travelers. If you choose to specialize, make sure you offer the kinds of amenities your type of visitor will be looking for (wireless access for business travelers, romantic décor for couples, etc.)

How Much Can You Make:

Most B&B's charge between $100-200 per night, depending on location and season.
